Gary was born and raised in Montreal Quebec where he still has family. In Sept. 1968 he joined the Royal Montreal Regiment, an infantry unit, and was discharged as a Corporal. Later in 1975 while employed by the Canadian National Railway, Gary along with wife Linda and their little daughter Cheryl was transferred to Calgary where he worked and lived until the Spring of 1978 when he was transferred to Halifax. When the family arrived they were four in number having added another daughter, Shannon to the family. Once here, they decided that this was the place to raise their children, and set down roots. They completed the family with two sons, David & Michael. They have since been blessed with eight grandchildren. The whole family ( including grandchildren) is into camping and canoeing/kayaking and have spent many wonderful days exploring our National & Provincial Parks, Keiji being a family favorite! Gary is also into outback hiking. His love of music, guitar more specifically, brought him to establish the 8:45 Choir at Saint Vincent's Parish where he and his good friend Rick McGillivary played for many years.

Together we have written many songs and recorded a C.D. compiled of all original music.
